Start of Summer .. I Feel It

Happy Friday! This week has been insane.. Raptors game, work meetings, upcoming collaborations, and many more. Other than that, I've been so excited because the weather was gorgeous yesterday. High of 20 degrees!! Can you believe it? It actually made me so happy seeing people outside. Even last night on my way home.. Everyone was still at the patio enjoying their food and having conversations. Though the next few days will be back to the chilly side, don't fret.. I can already feel the summer heat. I just can't wait!

Old School and Oversized

Who knew I could rock a men's jacket? Not even me! I finally had the chance to attend the Toronto Vintage Clothing show last month, and I got to see a lot of good stuff! One of them was this Pepsi-Cola men's bomber. It was love at first sight I tell you. I took it out of the rack, realized it was a size extra large, and had to figure out a way how to make it work. Rolling the sleeves always does the trick!

Within A Walking Distance

I've been slacking and I feel like I've been neglecting this blog for the past i-dont-know-how-many days. Or weeks, really.. Winter is just not the right season to be out and about taking #OOTDs. At least not where I currently reside. I know winter in some places isn't this intense. Anyway, I'm just realizing now that the coat I'm wearing here has been getting a lot of exposure. And by that, I meant hundreds. Not literally of course..

Layers Upon Layers

Maxi (or floor-length) dresses were one of the trends for the summer last year. And who says you can't wear them during the cold months too? Definitely not me. Dresses, in my opinion, are the most versatile piece a girl can have in her wardrobe. It's one of those things where you look like you made an effort planning an outfit without actually making the effort. Best. Feeling. Ever. Also, layering is key to keep warm when the temperatures drop. Wearing a black poncho on top of the dress and vest slims you down although you have three different layers on. It won't look bulky at all.

Wear Monochrome White

When I don't wear colour, I do it monochrome! A full monochromatic look may seem a little risky but if it's done right, they can look like very effortless and put together. The key is incorporating different textures when dealing with one colour. Not only you'd want each piece to be unique but should also be cohesive. This prevents you from looking like a solid block of colour. I paired this jogger-like, cargo-style pant with a white button down shirt that has a grid pattern. As for shoes, I opted for a navy stripe print to tie the outfit from head to toe. Finish it off with a faux leather jacket for a look that's both edgy and cool.

It's Raining, It's Pouring

It's almost the weekend! (Although yet again I am working on a Saturday) But.. No big deal. Busy season is starting to pick up. Plus, Toronto weather has begun being bipolar all over again. Like I've mentioned in my previous post HERE, we had above ten degree temperatures last week. Unfortunately this week was the exact opposite. It's been cold and rainy for the past two to three days. The sun peeks through for about five seconds and it disappears again. I can feel winter will be coming pretty soon.

Hello Sunshine, I Feel the Heat

There will never be an appropriate time than now to publish this outfit photo. I know I have been very inconsistent in updating the blog recently. If you follow me on Instagram ( @tiffanyc_ ), you know it's been such a crazy few months! I've been travelling a lot then midterms came then Toronto Fashion Week came. BUSY BUSY BUSY. Back to my point, I am currently in the west coast. Los Angeles to be exact. It was kind of a last minute trip tbh. I just wanted to get away during intersession week at school. So I decided to fly somewhere warm. And this is such a perfect time because Toronto right now is bleh. I'm still in denial that winter is coming. I say this every year but whatever. Not used to it!

Back to School with Me

I SURVIVED MY FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL. Yay to me! Now it's time to start the weekend.

All White Friday Vibes

#TGIF | Hope everyone is starting the weekend early! If not, fret no more, soon you'll be able to enjoy the last day of your work week. Speaking of starting the weekend early, I almost completely forgot to publish this new outfit post today. It's not that I had a list of things to do, but actually I was doing absolutely nothing that it slipped my mind until I looked at the time - which woke me up from a delusion that I have nothing else to do the rest of the day. But anyway.. FYI, I might not be able to post anything next week because I'll be away for a trip. Will try though! 'Til then, CIAO!

Too Hot To Care

I swear it's not what you're thinking! Toronto summer is not the very best. The sun is out - which is good - but the breeze is very warm. Wearing a knit dress wasn't a great idea either for this kind of weather. Yes, us bloggers make mistakes once in a while. Fashion over comfort, right? NOT. It was way too hot and I was sweating buckets. Literally. So I decided to wear a hat to cover my drenched forehead. I seriously looked like a boy in this outfit. But clearly it didn't matter. Hence the title.

Such Random Places

The photos I put up for my outfit posts are usually in the same place. I don't normally do my #OOTD in different locations. Cohesion is key, right? In some rare occasions, I take photos in different places. Most likely because I didn't have enough photos that I liked in that certain area. So I end up with a variety of shots in random places. Just like in here.. At times like this, I tell myself to scout locations first.

Hues Of Purple

For some unknown reason, I went through a mini phase where I decided to wear oversize graphic tees. I think I thought I'd wear it by itself. You know.. as a shirt dress. Honestly it definitely looked really cute on but I realized I don't have the confidence wearing that out. Just a tad bit too short. It's like wearing a super short dress/skirt/whatever. And that's not really my thing. What did I do? Paired it with pants. I haven't been a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl for the past i don't know about a year now. I feels very dressed down whenever I wear the ensemble. It's a very basic and go-to outfit for running around the city. I have to find a way to make me feel like I'm dressed up when I want to go for a t-shirt and jeans look.

Walk With Nature

Layering is one of the best styling tips anyone could have ever given. Especially for those who live in a place where the weather drastically changes every minute. Okay, that was a bit of exaggeration but you know what I mean. Mornings and nights are usually cold so wear a good amount of layers. So when the sun shines brightly in the middle of the day, you can easily take one of two layers off if it gets too warm.

I love going for walks by the beaches or on nature trails whenever the sun is out. There's something about it that is very relaxing and lifts up my mood. Plus, I discover hidden gems and I end up scouting a place where I can shoot outfit photos like this. Different sceneries make me happy.

Garden of Flowers

It's been such a gloomy day so why don't I post something that will brighten your view :)

It's All Scribbles

Have you heard of the origami skirt before? I thought they'd be an interesting piece to add to your wardrobe. Such a playful twist to a regular skirt. However, in this case, it's actually a pair of shorts. So.. a SKORT ! What struck me at first sight was its eye-catching print. Kind of reminds me of a seabed or something like that. I had no idea what to coordinate it with when I put it in my shopping bag. "Whatever. I'd figure it out once I decide to wear it," I said to myself.

I kept it fairly simple by wearing a light grey cropped long sleeve. When in doubt, go with neutrals.

A Hidden Courtyard

There are many hidden gems around the city; one of them is the University of Toronto campus. It has such great history and for all Harry Potter fans out there, this is the perfect place for you. Its walls and chambers has a Hogwarts feel. Dating from the 19th century, the architecture is described by a combination of Romanesque and Gothic Revival building spread across the campus. I haven't completely explored the university's grounds. With its green spaces and many interlocking courtyards, the university forms a distinct region of urban parkland in the heart of downtown Toronto.

On Wednesdays, I Wear Pink

As a forever Mean Girls fan, this post is inspired by the movie. **points to the title** And if things can get any more coincidental... I am currently also wearing a pink shirt while I write this. Funny eh? I actually didn't realize this until right now. Anyway, for the past few weeks or months or specifically this season, I have been loving every shade of pink. I've always perceived it as a very girly colour in the past, but now I consider it to be a little more mature. Pairing it with black is one of my favourite combinations.
