REVIEW | Optimera Day & Night Cream

Way back in June, I was fortunate to be invited to a media luncheon for a new skincare line that has launched in Canada. Sadly, I wasn't able to attend but they were kind enough to send me these products for review purposes. Honestly, my moisturizer journey has been a really tough one so there has been a lot of trial products on my makeup shelf. According to Nerium International, I can toss them all away and simplify my skincare routine by using only the Optimera Day and Night Cream.

What makes this particular brand special? Well.. Optimera is the only line of skincare products with the patent pending SAL-14 extract that improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, discolouration, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, and helps the skin appear firm and youthful. It is also formulated without parabens, gluten, propylene glycol, sulfates, DEA, or synthetic colours and are suitable for all skin types.

Optimera daytime and nighttime duo comes in a sleek, slender, curved bottle with a pump for easy application. These elegant and stylish bottles come in a pearly silver for the daytime and an electric blue for the night. (No more guessing which bottle is which! A+!) It's all common sense.. Optimera day cream is to be used in the morning and night cream for the evening. When used both together, it provides full 24-hour experience that lets you put your best face forward each and every day.

Optimera Day Cream has a super lightweight, white creamy texture that absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. It doesn’t feel sticky or greasy, making it the perfect moisturizer to apply under makeup. However, there are days where I have very oily skin so using the day cream isn't the best idea for me. Plus, my foundation has medium coverage so it's like I put so much products on my face and feels so heavy. I'd say it definitely does an excellent job at keeping your skin hydrated all day though. You’ll need about 2 to 3 pumps to cover the entire face and neck and it’s the first moisturizer that’s truly unscented.

Optimera Night Cream is much like the day dream, but with a slightly richer and thicker beige texture to it. It applies beautifully and evenly, but takes about a minute or two for it to fully soak into the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy or tight and provides 10 hours of solid moisture to the skin. It does have somewhat of a strong botanical scent to it, which slowly disappears within a few minutes. It’s much more concentrated than the day cream, so 1 to 2 pumps is enough to cover the entire face and neck. It's great that once it dries up and I go to bed, it doesn't smear on my pillow so I feel refreshed when I wake up in the morning.

Personally, I don't use these products much often because I prefer not to use anti-aging products yet. I still have fairly youthful skin and without much wrinkles. But with using the day and night cream for a week, I do recommend them if you want to lessen those fine lines, improve uneven skin texture, or to have firm and toned skin. Also, they offer 30-day money-back guarantee! Who wouldn't want that?
